Flamengo rediscovered its winning streak in the Brazilian league and beat Santos at the Maracana on Sunday evening. Leo Pereira, Carrascal and Bruno Henrique scored the goals of a 3-2 win, keeping the red and black team in pursuit of leaders Palmeiras, and leaving the rival in the relegation zone. However, the Black and White team almost trailed by three goals, with Bontempo and Lautaro Diaz scoring in the final period.
The Red and Black team opened the scoring in the first half, in a successful move, when Leo Pereira took advantage of a rebound after a corner kick. In the final stage, the knot was untied and the team expanded with Carrascal, after a wonderful pass from Arrascaeta – who missed a penalty kick – and Bruno Henrique, benefiting from the defensive effort.
The black and white team turned the game on at the end, when Bontempo and Lautaro DÃaz scored back-to-back goals, but the home team “survived” the blow and held on for the win.
With this result, the red and black team reached 68 points and equaled the score of Alverde, who still faces Mirasol tonight. But the Sao Paulo team will remain in the lead thanks to the number of victories (21 vs. 20).
From now on, the FIFA date begins, but Flamengo takes to the field on Saturday, hosted by Sport, in a postponed commitment to the round of 12.
