At 8:30 pm (Brasilia time) on Thursday (11/27), Fluminense and Sao Paulo will face each other at the Maracanã Stadium, in a match held within the 36th round of the Brazilian Championship.

A win over Sao Paulo, in addition to being worth the three points, could put Tricolor de Laranjeiras in a comfortable position in the fight for a place in the 2026 Copa Libertadores da América.

The team occupies seventh place in the standings with 55 points, a position that allows it to qualify for the CONMEBOL qualifiers for the continental championship. Sao Paulo comes in eighth place with 48.

The match marks the reunion between Zubeldía and Tricolor Paulista. The coach was appointed by Fluminense on 25 September 2025, with a contract until the end of 2026. During his time in São Paulo, between April 2024 and June 2025, the Argentine coached 85 matches at the club.
