A few days before the election of Fluminense’s president, supporters of Mateus Montenegro and Adhemar Aris campaigned in the Maracanã
Fluminense’s electoral campaign dominated the preliminary match against Sao Paulo on Thursday (27). Before the ball rolled in the Maracanã stadium, the perimeter of the stadium was filled with promoters of the candidates competing for the club presidency in the vote that will take place next Saturday (29), in Laranjeiras.
With flags, T-shirts and posters, the two candidates for the position of president of Fluminense spread out in the vicinity of the Maracanã. Supporters distributed posters and leaflets from the competitors. Furthermore, a “mini audio car” has also been announced in Montenegro.
Although the election date was close, the atmosphere was calm among supporters of the two teams competing for the presidency of Fluminense. In fact, in many places around the Maracanã, fans were side by side “fighting” with fans.
The Fluminense elections will take place next Saturday (29), from 8 am to 5 pm, at the Salão Nobre das Laranjeiras. The elections will determine the president of Tricolor for the next three years from 2026 to 2028. Mateus Montenegro, the club’s current vice president, and Adhemar Aris, the opposition candidate, are competing for the position.
The Fluminense elections will have TRE ballot boxes
The Fluminense elections will be marked by an important novelty. Last Monday (24), the Regional Electoral Tribunal of Rio de Janeiro (TRE-RJ) allowed the use of 22 electronic voting machines in the elections. In short, 17 will be used, while five will remain in reserve. Moreover, it was also decided that the public prosecutor would prosecute the case.
