Workers’ Party President Edinho Silva criticized the report of Bill No. 5582/25, called PL Antifaction, presented by Federal Representative Guilherme Dayret (PP-SP), which proposes changes in the actions of the Federal Police (PF) in actions against organized crime.
On Monday (11/10), the text proposed by the rapporteur was criticized because it indicated that the company could only act with the State Police upon a formal request from the Governor. The snippet was changed after strong feedback. The Rapporteur maintained the independence of the National Police, but decided that it must always submit reports on operations to the competent State authorities.
For the Labor leader, even with the changes, the text continues to weaken the National Front’s role and will encourage operational leakage.
“The changes in the anti-PL report, issued by Dirit, Minister of Public Security under Tarcisio (De Freitas, SP State Governor), continue to weaken the Federal Police; they attack its independence, and limit the institution most capable of confronting organized crime and fighting corruption,” Edinho criticized.

Without reaching an agreement in the chamber, Mota is trying to vote on PL Antifaction on Tuesday
“Having to report their investigations to state governments limits action against crime and will lead to leakage of operations, which only favors criminals,” Edinho Silva said. “With this Dirit report, only organized crime and the corrupt will win.”
This Tuesday (11/11), the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), confirmed that the National Front will not lose its powers with the new version of the Constitutional Law.
The parliamentarian said: “The Chamber will not, at any time, allow the Federal Police to lose its powers. This is a non-negotiable condition for us, to the point that the rapporteur himself, since yesterday, through us, spoke with the Director General of the Federal Police.”
The text can be voted on in the chamber on Tuesday. Mota will meet with government leaders and ministers to discuss the proposal.
