Scathing comments made by Ferrari boss John Elkann about the performances of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc at the Formula 1 Sao Paulo Grand Prix did not sit well with drivers who spoke out on social media.
In a post on the X social network, Charles Leclerc rated his performance at Interlagos as “disappointing”. Furthermore, Monaco stated that he would work to help the team win second place in the World Constructors’ Championship.
“A very difficult weekend in Sao Paulo,” said Leclerc. “It is disappointing to come home with almost no points for the team at a critical moment of the season, in the fight for second place in the Constructors’ Championship. From now on, the journey will be uphill and it is clear that only unity can help us turn this situation around in the last three races. We will do our best, as always.”

Hamilton has already announced that he will not abandon the dispute. The Englishman also thanked Brazil for the reception during the Grand Prix period.
Hamilton said, “I support my team. I support myself. I will not give up. Not now, not later, and not ever. Thank you, always, Brazil.”
Leclerc and Hamilton were unable to complete the main race of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. The driver from Monaco exited the race on lap six, while the Briton retired on lap 37.

Ferrari president demands focus from Hamilton and Leclerc
Ferrari president John Elkann strongly criticized Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc for their lower-than-expected performance at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, which was held last Sunday (9/11).
Amid the harsh criticism, Elkann stated that athletes “should talk less and focus on driving”, and that Ferrari “needs drivers who think less about themselves and more about the team”.
Ferrari, which was already second in the World Constructors’ Championship, now sits in fourth place, 36 points behind vice-leader Mercedes. McLaren has already claimed the competition title.
