At least four people were killed and ten others were injured. Saturday night in a shooting during a family gathering at a Stockton ballroom, cain the middle of the Thanksgiving holiday.
In total, “approximately 14 people were shot with firearms,” San Joaquin County Police reported, four of whom were killed.
The authorities indicated that the available information was limited, but the first indicators were pointing to this “Targeted” attack..
“Investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led to this tragedy. We urge anyone with information, video recordings, or who witnessed any part of this incident to contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately,” the Sheriff’s Office said, which also asked the community for cooperation.
The shooting happened in the 1900 block of Lusail Street, inside a banquet hall that shares a parking lot with other businesses in the area.
Children were among the victims.According to Heather Brent, a spokeswoman for the San Joaquin County Police, who confirmed that the motive behind the attack remains unknown.
A number of injured people were transferred to nearby hospitals, and no information is yet available about the development of their condition.
California Governor Gavin Newsom was informed of the incident and his office confirmed that the state is closely following the investigation.
