This was the reaction of the Minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations, Glessy Hoffman (PT-PR), after the President of the Federal Senate, Davy Alcombre (Uniao Brasil-AP), on Sunday (30/11), issued a memorandum criticizing sectors of Lula’s government.
However, Hofmann wanted to dismiss any fuss and linked his speech to Alcolombre’s by saying that the government, like him, rejects suggestions that the institutional relationship between Planalto and the Senate is built on negotiations of positions and amendments.
We have for the senator @davialcolumbre The highest respect and appreciation. We will never think of breaking down the institutional relationship with the President of the Senate into any kind of physiological or negotiation of positions and amendments. The government rejects such insinuations in the same way…

The President of the Senate complained about the delay of the presidential message to the legislature regarding the hearing of Jorge Mesías in the Supreme Federal Court (STF).
“After the decision was taken by the President of the Republic and published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, it causes bewilderment to the Senate for not yet sending the written letter, which appears to seek to unjustifiably interfere with the timetable set by the House of Representatives, which is the exclusive prerogative of the Federal Senate,” he said earlier in a memorandum. .
Although the announcement of Mesías’ appointment to the STF was made on November 20, he has not yet sent the letter to the Senate. Alcolombre is scheduled to have a hearing on December 10, but it can only take place if Planalto sends the statement by then. In government, the plan is for the message to be delivered personally by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) to the politician Amapa.
The session is taking place in an atmosphere of tension, as the President of the Senate wanted the name chosen to be that of Senator Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), but Lula chose Mesías, the current Attorney General of the Union (AGU).
Regarding the supposed negotiations on positions and amendments between the authorities, Alcolombre said that “the attempt by sectors of the executive authority to create a false impression, before society, that disputes between the authorities are resolved by adjusting physiological interests, with positions and amendments, is clear. This is insulting not only to the President of the National Congress, but to the entire legislative authority.”
