Ibaneis thanks BRB for approving the name and says he is awaiting scrutiny

Governor Ibanes Rocha (MDB) on Wednesday (26/11) thanked the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF) for approving Nelson Souza to head Banco de Brasília (BRB) and said that an internal audit will point out the true value of the alleged fraud in credit portfolios purchased from Banco Master.

Nelson Souza was appointed by Ibanez after the Federal Court ordered the dismissal of then President Paulo Henrique Costa. The governor explained that he is now awaiting the approval of the Central Bank on the name of the new president.

According to Ibañes, the audit contracted by the BRB will reveal the true amount of the values investigated in Operation Zero Compliance, which was initially estimated at R$12 billion by the Federal Police (PF).

“An audit has already been set so that we get the real numbers. They started talking about 12 (billion Brazilian reais), but we need to fully calculate these numbers,” the governor said after introducing new buses from Viasão Pionera.

Ibanes also thanked the CLDF for approving the new Regional Planning Master Plan (PDOT).

The document specifies where the guidelines and strategies apply to urban and rural areas of the Federal District.

The new update of the plan, which forecasts a 5% increase in the DF’s urban area, will help guide the federation’s regional planning for the coming years, and inform urban, environmental and housing development policies.

“With PDOT’s approval, we will be able to create new housing development areas, especially for low-income residents,” the governor stressed.

Bolsonaro imprisonment

He said: “This is not my issue, it is the Republic’s issue.”

On Monday (11/24), in response to the governor’s question, he said: “An issue of justice. Not my issue.”
