According to a study by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) released on Friday (28/11), life expectancy in Brazil has risen in 2024, reaching 76.6 years. In 2023, the forecast was 76.4.

The institute also notes that for men, the increase was 2.5 months, going from 73.1 years to 73.3 years in this period. For women, the gain was slightly smaller: from 79.7 to 79.9 years, or two months more.
