Araujo also serves as vice president of the Brazilian Confederation of Fisheries and Aquaculture Workers (CBPA), one of the entities investigated by Brazilian police and suspected of being part of a scheme of undeserved cuts to retirees and pensioners.
Last week, Vice President of the CPMI, Federal Rep Duarte Jr. (PSB-MA), filed a police report against Araújo. According to Duarte Jr., the state representative allegedly threatened him and his family. During the CBPA chief’s testimony at CPMI, Duarte Jr. questioned him about the entity’s transfers to Araujo.
