The weekly Consumer Price Index (IPC-S) for the third four weeks of November rose by 0.23%, according to data from the Getulio Vargas Foundation’s Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV Ibre). In 12 months, an increase of 3.98% has accumulated.
In the same period in October, the index rose by 0.19%. In the first preview of November, the increase amounted to 0.23%, and in the second preview it was 0.24%.
Half of the eight expense categories that make up the index recorded a decrease in their variance rates, with a focus on clothing, whose variance rate decreased from 0.16% in the second four-week period to a decrease of 0.67% in the third four weeks.
With less pronounced increases were miscellaneous expenses (0.48% to 0.22%), health and personal care (0.68% to 0.61%), and food (0.10% to 0.04%).
On the other hand, the groups Education, Reading and Entertainment (0.79% to 1.36%), Communications (0.10% to 0.12%) and Transportation (0.10% to 0.11%) rose. The housing sector reduced the rate of decline (-0.05% to -0.02%).
