The death sentence was carried out in the city of Bastam after the Supreme Court ratified the ruling, according to what was reported by the official Mizan Online website of the judiciary.
According to regional authorities, the man “deceived and raped two women using force and coercion,” using “intimidation and threats” to instill fear in the victims of the possibility of harming their reputations.
The identity of the convict and the date of his sentencing were not revealed.
The Islamic Republic, which carries out death sentences by hanging, is the second country to use the death penalty in the world, after only China, according to human rights organizations such as Amnesty International.
