Caetano Veloso has always been on top. From the tropics to digital innovation, his work represents a constant dialogue with the transformations the world is witnessing. But, at 83, he admits he faces a new dilemma: his relationship with artificial intelligence.
“It fascinates me a little and scares me a lot,” he said in an interview with Newmag. The phrase intensifies the Catanese spirit: a genuine interest in the unknown and critical capabilities in the face of the ethical, aesthetic and social impacts of technology.

For Caetano, artificial intelligence can open new paths in the formation and recording of memory, but it also threatens to hollow out the human gesture—breathing, failure, improvisation, touch, and surprise. All that makes Brazilian music one of the most complex intangible heritages on the planet.
The artist also considers how technology has reorganized public debate and democracy. When he talks about politics, he remembers that any technological progress will only be meaningful if it preserves the right to pluralism and freedom.
But on stage, Cayetano keeps it organic: voice, guitar, vibrato, presence. This combination of humanistic gestures and a contemporary reading of the world is what Brasilia will see at the Estilo Brasil Festival, where he is preparing a show of memory, invention and affection, on December 11.
