The coach highlighted the control and chances created by Mineirão, but admitted his frustration with the lack of accuracy in play
Coach Leonardo Jardim expressed his regret for the inaccuracy of Cruzeiro’s shooting during the goalless draw with Fluminense, on Sunday (9), at the Mineirão Stadium, in the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship. Despite the control and good opportunities created by the Heavenly Team, the Heavenly Team was stopped by goalkeeper Fabio.
In his analysis after the match, Jardim confirmed that the team’s offensive performance was consistent, but it lacked the finishing touch to turn chances into goals.
“Efficiency is something that cannot be trained very much. It is about the present moment, the ability of the players to make a decision, because some, in other moments, could have finished the match,” said the Portuguese coach.
Despite his frustration with the result, the captain was keen to highlight the positive side of Cruzeiro’s performance.
He added, “Today we did not have the efficiency and artistry to complete the plays. We will continue to work with the goal of being more effective and improving this individual quality. I will be concerned if we do not create chances. If we create, this is a sign of offensive organization.”
With this draw, Cruzeiro added another important point in the final stage of the Brazilian League, but he remains under pressure to find a series of victories that strengthen the team’s position in the middle of the table.
