Cuiaba’s opening weekend saw races postponed and the Sprint Championship decided. See how the races went.
Confirmed Saturday Joao Cardoso (Class A) and Addison Jr. (Class B) as Turismo Nacional’s Sprint Champions 2025. Adelson, also a Hyundai HB20 Cup driver, became champion before the final race of the weekend with 5 wins in 6 heats.
The Endurance Championship and Overall Championship disputes are still ongoing – which combines the combined results from the Sprint and Endurance stages.
Races 3 and 4 were postponed due to rain on Friday night and were moved to Saturday afternoon, delaying class track activities. With no returns, the weekend featured the highest-scoring third round of the weekend, as well as double-digit points in Heats 5 and 6. In total, there were 172 points up for grabs on Saturday.

How were the races?
In the third race, in the first moments, some drivers ran off the track during a dispute over position, and went to the escape zone, but returned without any major consequences. Shortly afterwards, Rogero dos Santos’ car (number 990) caught fire, prompting the safety car to be immediately activated. The pilot – Duo Enzo Valkette, escaped unharmed.
While the yellow flag was raised, driver Renzo Zampolini received a traffic citation for a false start. Because he did not comply with the penalty, 20 seconds were added to his final race time.
The beginning of the fourth race was marked by intense competition between the competitors for the Class A title for the first positions. Amidst the racing touches, Alexandre Bastos needed to reduce the gap of about 30 points over Joao Cardoso, the leader of the category at the time.
In a dispute with Daniel Nino, driver Pablo Alves ran off the track alone, but returned to the track without any further problems.
Both races finished under yellow flags.
Race 5 started after a period of rain and the track was still wet. Due to the circumstances, the first laps took place under the yellow flag, and the start was in a single file. During the race, rain fell again, causing a skid and raising the yellow flag again due to accidents that occurred on the track.
Amidst the events, the leader of the first category championship, Joao Cardoso, ended up not completing the race.
At the start of the last heatwave of the weekend, early Sunday, some riders slipped and got stuck in the mud, but were able to get back up. And ahead, Gui Sertoli’s car was involved in a successive collision, which ended up overturning and stopping on its feet. The driver was not injured, and the safety car was activated.
After analyzing the direction of the race, Nico D’Agnole was disqualified from the race for causing an incident with Edinardo Filho which led to a Sertoli rollover.
