The mantle of the “Message” of Hope of Triana is indeed a symbolic piece of tapestry of the company’s history of what it meant to the disciples and brothers during the days of Our Lady’s stay in the Church. … Parishes of San Pio Likewise, it is A very special artwork executed by Baby Maya Workshop and designed by Javier Sanchez de los Reyes.
As the Fraternity noted at the time, it was inspired by another cloak found in Ronda, which belonged to the city’s patron saint, the Virgin of Peace. This was the first creation made by José Recio for Esperanza de Triana in 1909.. In this way began the style that was coined in the Diocese of San Jacinto and which remains an emblem to this day.
In the piece from La Paz de Ronda that is usually used to kiss the hands of the Virgin or for the procession, you can still guess the “dragons” painted by Recio or the decorative elements that define Esperanza de Triana. The embroidery has been modified over the decades, for example to incorporate the name Salam In the middle part of the mantle however there are still the original floral motifs.
Recio, who was influenced by José Gestoso, He worked to restore Renaissance ceramic designs from 16th-century Seville This can still be seen in some civil and religious buildings from that time. He passed them on to the Brotherhood and this Ronda cloak was the first example. It was owned by the San Jacinto brothers until 1948, at which time it was sold to Saint Ronda.
Then comes another version of Risyu’s primordial cloak, like the dragon cloak.embroidered by Esperanza Elena Caro for the haunting in Porizza Street. It is also a work full of symbols, with many plant and animal elements. There are stems, scrolls and baskets with fruits and flowers of various kinds, fantastic animals and birds, and a large winged dragon at the bottom of the tail. In the scrolls that frame it, flowers are depicted and at the bottom of them are two small cartouches indicating their manufacture.
The Virgin of Peace of Ronda exhibited the Mantle of Hope of Triana for the first time after her ecclesiastical coronation and due to the poor condition of the support, she restored it and changed its design to adapt it, currently leaving two different pieces: one in blue velvet and the other in light blue. The picture is by an unknown author and its devotion is linked to Fray Diego de Cádiz because he is the author of the book Devota novena y Miraculos a la Virgen de la Paz del 18th Century, which collects extraordinary events related to the sculpture.

As a matter of curiosity, it is not the only tapestry work belonging to the Brotherhood of Seville located in the city of Ronda, because the ancient pallium of the Virgin of Mercy in Passion is currently held by the Brotherhood of Jesús Nazareno, whose processions take place every year at dawn on Good Friday. This pallium dates back to the end of the nineteenth century and involved Emilia Salvador Ibarra, Concepcion Pelaez and designer Manuel Jesús Beltrán Jiménez.
