Fabia Oliveira’s column finds out that the criminal case related to the alleged rape of Ottavio Mesquita against Juliana Oliveira has gained news. The former stage assistant on The Noite with Danilo Gentile, on 27 March 2025, filed a criminal report with the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office against the broadcaster, accusing him of rape, in connection with an episode of the program shown on 25 April 2016 on SBT.
For those who do not remember, the Fourth Public Prosecution Office in Osasco decided to archive the investigation into the artist. The prosecutor concluded that there was insufficient evidence to describe the crime. Although Otavio’s behavior was rejected, the representative of Parliament reported that no elements of violence or intent on his part were identified.

The prosecutor stated in the document that the archiving process was not illegal, but rather that there was merely non-compliance on Juliana’s part. According to him, the theater assistant did not provide new evidence that would allow the facts to be reinterpreted.
The professional stressed that he did not disagree with Juliana Oliveira’s repulsion and rebellion, but he considered that the archiving was correct, as it was not possible to extract all the elements that constitute the crime of rape.
The fighting continues
While the criminal investigation against the broadcaster is still resolved, the battle between the two remains raging on the civil level. This is because Otavio Mesquita decided to sue Juliana and demand compensation of 50 thousand Brazilian reals for moral damages after all the repercussions of the case.
Understanding the case involving Ottavio Mesquita and Juliana Oliveira
Juliana Oliveira filed a criminal complaint with the Public Ministry of São Paulo against Otávio Mesquita. The defense of the former stage assistant at The Noite indicates in the complaint that the comedian was the victim of “lewd acts using physical force,” in front of more than a hundred people in the studio, and which had widespread repercussions on social media.
The episode could have occurred during the taping of a program on which Otavio Mesquita was a guest. On that occasion, the broadcaster came down from the stage upside down and in costume when Juliana arrived to help him. At that moment, Mesquita touches the girl’s genitals, and she responds with slaps and kicks.
