The leader of the Workers’ Party in the House of Representatives, Lindbergh Farias (RJ), intends to ask the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), to immediately dismiss Rep. Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ) as soon as his conviction is confirmed by the STF (Federal Supreme Court).
The operation related to the coup plot is expected to be officially closed by special forces next week, with defense resources denied, leading to the arrest of those convicted.
“We will ask the board to revoke Ramajim immediately as soon as the conviction is confirmed and the arrest is formalized,” says Lindbergh. “In this case, no internal process is required, and the loss of authorization must be announced immediately.”
The Chamber is currently analyzing a case similar to the Ramajem case, that of MP Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), imprisoned in Italy and also convicted by the Special Court. But in this case, the loss of mandate is analyzed by the Constitution and Justice Committee of the Council.
Although it recognizes that Zambelli should also have been abolished, the PT recognizes that the Ramajem issue is more serious and could push Mota to take a tougher stance.
This is because he was going to use the medical leave request to deceive the room and flee to the United States of America.
Lindbergh stated that he would also ask the Board of Directors for clarification on the circumstances under which the license was granted to Ramajim.
Bolsonaro’s deputy was also the target of a preventive detention request by Minister Alexandre de Moraes to go to the United States. The Court recognizes that in this case, prior authorization from the Chamber is not required to implement Moraes’ order, because it is not a red-handed arrest.
