After spending a few hours under observation in hospital because he accidentally took gasoline during a home surgery, Leandro Lima is now at home. The actor took to Instagram Stories on Monday night (11/10) to say he was released from the hospital and joked about the situation.
“Okay guys, everything’s fine,” he began, “I just escaped from the hospital here. The doctor wanted to keep me until eight in the morning. I’ve had tests done, everything’s fine. No gasoline got into my lungs.”
“Ethanol is for the weak,” he quipped, “but I’d advise you not to drink ethanol or gasoline, okay? Mainly because of your breath. Back in bed where I was, the gasoline smells terrible. I feel like a Beetle in here, that gasoline smell. Don’t drink gasoline.”

He explained: “I’ve done that several times, transferring gasoline from one tank to another. That was fine, nothing happened. This time I was fiddling with cars at home. I saw that the Beetle was out of gasoline, and I went to take gasoline from the motorcycle to put it in the Beetle, with a thicker hose.”
The actor reported that the accident occurred when he choked on gasoline during the transportation process: “I pulled and it did not come, but I lowered the hose. As a result, it was halfway there. Then, I pulled the hose too hard and he ended up swallowing the gasoline and choking on it.”
He was taken to hospital
Concerned about possible respiratory complications, Leandro decided to seek medical attention: “I got short of breath, which must have been an allergy. I came here to the hospital, and they kindly left me under observation to see if the gasoline didn’t get into my lungs, for example. I already had a test done and it probably didn’t get in.”
The actor also took the opportunity to alert his followers about the safe way to transfer fuel between tanks, and confirmed that his health condition is now stable.
“I’m just hungry,” he concluded, laughing, recalling that he underwent tests and received an intravenous injection. “No one allows me to eat or drink anything. And I have a terrible smell of gasoline.”
