On Monday, 24th of this month, Lucas Leto commented on the criticism leveled by Tais Araujo regarding the result of her character Raquel in the new version of the film Anything goes. In an interview with landThe actor stressed the importance of listening to the criticism and pain caused by artists, but he also issued a warning.
“I think every valid question and every pain deserves to be heard,” said Lucas, who plays Sardinia in the remake. But he said it is necessary to be careful not to believe everything that is circulated online.
The comment was made on the black carpet of the Potensias Awards, an event held in São Paulo. Taís Araújo’s displeasure became public in an interview with Quem magazine, when he expressed his regret over Raquel’s ending in the TV series. In the story, the character loses control of the company she was running and returns to selling sandwiches on the beach. In the original series, Raquel rises financially undefeated.
In the interview, Tice highlighted that the result deviated from the initial idea for the character and represented a missed opportunity. “I admit that I received it with shock, because it was not the original plot. For me, Raquel will continue on an upward curve. (…) When I see that this has not happened, as an artist who wants to tell the story of a new country, I admit that I feel sad and frustrated,” Araujo said at the time.
Lucas won Best Supporting Actor for his work on the series.
