Former First Lady Michele Bolsonaro (PL-DF), on Sunday (30/11), criticized the rapprochement between the PL Directory of Ceará and former Minister Ciro Gomez (PSDB). At a party event in Fortaleza, local allies raised the possibility of a broader dialogue with the former minister, who has already confirmed his candidacy for Ceará’s government. According to Michel, this approach contradicts the values and political line that the party defends at the national level.
“It’s about this alliance that you (PL) rushed to make. (…) An alliance with the man (Ciro) who stands against the greatest leader of the right is not possible. (…) We want calm, we want unity, and we see that the person does not raise the white flag. The person keeps saying that the family is the family of thieves, it is the family of criminals. They liken President Bolsonaro to a chicken thief. So, there is no way, this no longer exists,” said Michele.
The letter reveals internal tensions in the Liberal Party of Ceará and directly contradicts the announcement of federal MP André Fernández (PL-CE), who heads the state Liberal Party, at the end of October. He recalled on this occasion that former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) gave the green light to the party to support the candidacy of Ciro Gomez for Ceará’s government in next year’s elections.

To the press, federal MP André Fernandez responded to Michel’s criticism and reiterated that coordination with Siro was carried out with the support of the national leadership of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
He said: “The wife of former President Bolsonaro comes and tries to get here and says that we made a wrong move, (while President Bolsonaro himself, on May 29, asked us, together with parliamentarians, to call Ciro Gomez on loudspeaker. It was agreed that we would support Ciro Gomez.”
According to Fernandez, the coalition has a strategic goal: to strengthen the party to win Senate seats in 2026. “We have to defeat the Labor Party here in the state,” he declared.
