The president of the chamber, Hugo Mota (Republicanos-PB), has warned the rapporteur of the project regulating transportation applications in Brazil, MP Augusto Coutinho (Republicanos-PE), that he wants to vote on the text in the last week of November.
With this, Coutinho intends to submit the opinion this week, so that it can be voted on by the special committee created to analyze the merits of the proposal. After that, the text, written by MP Louise Gastau (PSD-CE), will be presented to the plenary session.
The rapporteur must guarantee the national minimum value of the race in his opinion. However, each city may set a minimum higher than the national minimum. The exact value is still being determined.
Coutinho also wants all workers to have a common coat and calls for them to have accident insurance, so as not to pass the bill on to the state in case of any mishap.
In 2024, the federal government sent a project regulating the work of application drivers to Congress, but the proposal fell from the voting radar after it faced criticism from the category and parliamentarians. Coutinho sees less resistance to Gastau’s project.
