Benicio says the beginning of the series is always difficult. “It’s your own adaptation with 30 people (cast). You have to adapt to what you think at home. Sometimes, it gets better. Sometimes, it frustrates you. The first three months of the series are all about adapting.”
With more than 30 years of his career under his belt, the actor says soap operas are still an attractive format. “It’s a rehearsal for common life,” he concludes. “Only Brazil has so many soap operas, with so many seasons. The actor, if he is intelligent, always makes use of soap operas as a wonderful form of acting training.”
