Last Friday, residents of Copacabana identified Eduardo Lordao near Busto 5. The man, who appears to be middle-aged, is being investigated by the 12th Police (Copacabana) for a series of thefts in the neighborhoods of the southern region, especially in commercial buildings and establishments. Eduardo has already been arrested 11 times for similar crimes, and there are currently two new reports against him at this police station.

Last week, the police station submitted an arrest request on behalf of Eduardo and is awaiting the court’s decision on whether to issue an arrest warrant.

The man was an easy-going figure on social media, in videos posted by victims. In one of them, which was recorded on Wednesday afternoon (12), around 3.30 pm, he is shown coercing two employees of a store, with intimidating behavior, claiming that he knows the owner of the establishment and claiming that he is bringing a package. Despite his attempts, he was unable to take anything.
Another video, posted on the same day, shows Lordao entering a building on Rua Marques de Paraná, in Flamengo, at around 12:30 p.m. He was able to reach the building, but was unable to climb up or enter the apartments. The concierge was suspicious of his position and stopped his passage.
On November 7, at around 12:34 p.m., he was seen near a newsstand in Largo do Machado. The previous day, at 12:45 p.m., he was identified when he tried to enter a building on Miguel Lemos Street, in Copacabana. The staff recognized him, and when they realized he was recognized, he quickly left the scene.
Lordao was also seen last Friday (7), around 12:34 p.m., near a newsstand in Largo do Machado. The previous day, Thursday (6), at 12:45 p.m., he was seen trying to enter a building on Miguel Lemos Street, in Copacabana. The staff recognized him, and when they realized he was recognized, he quickly left the scene.
The man is also suspected of stealing a mobile phone from a beauty salon in Copacabana on the 1st. Reports also indicate that he broke into an apartment in the neighborhood on October 26, when he tried to steal a notebook. A resident approached him at the entrance and was able to retrieve the equipment.
