The Australian leaves Interlagos without a podium and remains cautious in the final stage of the championship, which remains open between McLaren drivers.
Oscar Piastri had a complicated weekend at Interlagos. After a continuous series of strong results, including victories, pole positions and podiums, the Australian was unable to repeat his performance and was excluded from the top positions, while Lando Norris prevailed and reached the podium at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
After the race, Piastri was asked about his expectations for the next stage in Las Vegas. The driver was cautious: “I don’t know yet, I haven’t thought that far. I hope it will be a bit difficult, there are always difficult conditions. I don’t expect it to be any different than it was this weekend.”
Internal competition between McLaren remains intense: Norris has 390 points in the championship, compared to Piastri’s 366. There are only three races left – Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi – to finish the season.
