The final of another edition of the Libertadores Cup will be held on Saturday (11/29). Palmeiras and Flamengo take the field in search of their fourth title in the South American competition at 6 pm (Brasilia time). This will be Alverde’s seventh decision of the competition.
After eliminating LDU, at Allianz Parque, in the semi-final of the event, Palmeiras reached the final of the Lipetadores for the seventh time in history. The club has a recent history of decisions in the competition, including lifting the cup in previous years. However, today Alverde is not among the main teams on the continent.

The first time Palmeiras reached the Libertadores final was in 1961. The Brazilian club lost the decision to Peñarol with a score of 2 x 1. Then, in 1968, the team again reached the decisive match. On that occasion, after three matches, Estudiantes became champions.
The first victory was in 1999. After an aggregate score of 2 x 2, Palmeiras won over Deportivo Cali 4 x 3 on penalties. The following year, the team finished second again, after Boca Juniors performed better in the penalty shootout.
In 2020, Palmeiras lifted the Copa Libertadores again, after defeating Santos 1 x 0. The following year, Alverde won the champion again. In the decisive match, the team defeated Flamengo 2×1.
