Flamengo president Papp spoke about the contractual situation of Rubro Negro’s coach, Felipe Luis, after the club won its fourth Libertadores championship, beating Palmeiras 1-0, with a goal scored by Danilo, at the Monumental de Lima stadium in Peru, on Saturday (29).
The manager praised the coach’s work in leading the team and highlighted the support he has provided to the captain since he assumed the position of Flamengo president:
“Filipe Luis is part of this, and he is a very special man. I trusted when I took over, he is with us even now. If it were up to me alone, of course he would stay, but like every marriage depends on two…”The red and black boss said.
Babb stated that he believed the coach would stay:
“But I think he also wants to come for more. If I had to bet on Betano (Flamengo’s main sponsor), I would bet on him staying. I wouldn’t pay too much, because it’s a bit like rain.”The leader added.
