Pearson launches AI Communication Coach program in collaboration with Microsoft | Dino

Pearson, a global lifelong learning company, announced the launch of Communication Coach, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning product developed as part of the company’s co-innovation efforts with Microsoft. Communication Coach integrated with Microsoft 365 is designed to improve the communication skills of native and non-native speakers of English and can be adapted for any level of professional who wants to improve their communication skills.

A Pearson communications coach analyzes employee speech, contact information, and meeting interactions. This data is then combined with Pearson Science and Learning content. As a result, the Communication Coach provides real-time advice and feedback on grammar, vocabulary, tone, expression, clarity, and professional interactions.

The new tool is powered by Pearson’s skills intelligence engine, which draws on data sets from company properties such as Faethm and Credly, a certification platform. Additionally, the solution can leverage company-specific platforms and can be configured using Microsoft 365 Copilot. Communication Coach is also compatible with Pearson’s Global Scale of English, the company’s proprietary tool for assessing English proficiency.

“We all know that good communication skills are one of the key criteria for doing well at work,” said Vishal Gupta, Head of Enterprise Learning Solutions at Pearson. “Communication Coach is Pearson’s way of helping people develop this important skill. By incorporating actionable tips and advice into products that millions of people use every day, we can increase our ability to help people advance and succeed.” “Together with Microsoft, we’re helping people develop their communication skills by delivering low-stress learning directly into their workflow, where they can get their point across effectively and move forward with confidence.”

“At Microsoft, we believe AI should empower people — not just processes,” said Ranveer Chandra, vice president of Copilot Tuning at Microsoft. “Together with Pearson, we’re delivering AI-powered skill development, tuned to your organization’s data, directly into workflow, helping people accelerate how they learn, communicate, and grow in their careers. By embedding intelligent, personalized tools into products like Teams and Copilot, we deliver human-centered solutions that drive meaningful progress — for every employee, in every role.”

Launched in Brazil and other international markets, Pearson is among the first education companies to integrate its science-backed learning capabilities into Microsoft 365 workflows to help millions of people develop the skills needed to succeed in their careers. Building on the partnership between Microsoft and Pearson announced earlier this year, Communication Coach was previewed at Microsoft Ignite 2025, with betas and general availability in 2026.

“Launching a solution in Brazil that should scale globally and combine learning science and artificial intelligence for the continuous development of human skills is crucial,” said Cynthia Nespoli, CEO of Pearson Brasil. “In a world where communication is becoming increasingly strategic, Communication Coach has the ability to support companies and professionals in areas that directly impact business results.”
