
Total personal insurance premiums reached R$58.6 billion between January and September 2025, an increase of 8.8% compared to the same period last year.
The data comes from an unpublished report by the National Federation of Private Pensions and Life (Fenaprevi), based on information from the Private Insurance Supervisory Authority (Susep).
According to the survey, 48% of the total premiums were in life insurance (individual and group methods), 28% in credit life insurance, and 12% in personal accident.
The largest increases in premiums were for critical illness (19.9%), individual life (14.2%), and group life (9.2%).
According to the report, compensation worth R$12.99 billion was paid between January and September, an increase of 7.4% compared to the first nine months of last year.
The result by product shows that 53% of benefits paid were in life insurance (individual and group), 22% in credit life insurance, 11% in personal accident insurance, and 15% in other insurances.
Reimbursements in educational insurance grew the most during this period, increasing by 39.2%. This is followed by critical illness insurance (24.4%) and funeral (19.9%).
