The Public Prosecutor’s Office (PGR) asked the Federal Supreme Court (STF) on Monday (10/11) to sentence two federal deputies and a PL deputy for crimes of passive corruption and criminal organization.
The request for conviction is present in the final arguments of the process in which federal representatives Josimar Maranhauzinho (PL-MA), Pastor Gil (PL-MA) and substitute Bosco Costa (PL-SE) were accused of taking bribes to launch parliamentary amendments.

According to the PGR, between January and August 2020, the defendants requested an undue benefit of R$1.6 million to release R$6.6 million in adjustments to the municipality of São José de Ribamar (MA).
The complaint will be decided by the first panel of the court. A trial date has not yet been set.
The other side
The Brazilian Agency contacted the offices of Josimar Maranhauzinho and Pastor Gil. Space is open to manifestation. The report was unable to locate Bosco Costa.
During this process, Josimar Maranhaozinho declared before the Supreme Court that the accusations made by the Attorney General against the parliamentarian “appear to be weak and unfounded.”
Bosco Costa’s lawyers defended the dismissal of the complaint due to insufficient evidence. The defense told the Supreme Court that the accusation was based on “dialogues from third parties and handwritten notes unknown to Bosco.”
Pastor Gil’s defense argued that the evidence obtained in the investigation was illegal because he understood that the case should have been initiated in the STF, and not in the Maranhão Federal Court. The lawyers also added that the complaint is based on “assumptions and conjectures.”
