The PDT leader in the chamber, Mario Herringer (MG), was the only MP from a leftist party with a ministry in Lula’s government who attended the press conference of the PL Antifaction rapporteur, Guilherme Diret (PP-SP), this Tuesday (11/11).
Heringer attended the entire press conference alongside Chamber President Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB). In the end, the PDT leader followed the MP from Paraíba to the office of the Presidency of the House of Representatives and did not comment on the project.

In the interview, there were mostly deputies opposed to Lula’s government. In addition to Dirit, the current Secretary of Public Security of Tarcisio de Freitas in São Paulo, there was also the leader of the Liberal Party in the chamber, Sostines Cavalcante (RJ).
Also present were Reps. Kim Katagiri (Uniao-SP), who is trying to include the “Anti-Oream Law” in the text; Pia Kisses (PL-DF); Marcel van Hatem (RS), current leader of Nouveau; In addition to names from Centrao, such as the leader of the People’s Party, Dr. Luisinho (RJ).

During the press conference, the rapporteur expressed his readiness to discuss his text with Lula’s government. Moreover, he pointed out changes in the project that please the Planalto Palace, including a section that equates sanctions imposed on criminal factions with those imposed on terrorist groups.

Workers’ Party leader Lindbergh Farias (RJ) said, “The withdrawal announced by Rapporteur Guilherme Duret came at an appropriate time, as the unconstitutionality that violates national sovereignty by equating criminal factions with terrorist organizations has been corrected.”
Despite the promise of change, government leaders say they will wait for the publication of the new Dirrett report to assess whether to vote in favor of the rapporteur’s opinion. Otherwise, they must try to approve an alternative text in plenary.
