The party says it adheres to Law No. 9,096/95, whose article 22 states that the party must “immediately cancel” a person’s membership in the party in the event of death, loss of political rights, expulsion, “and other forms provided for by law, with obligatory notification to the affected person within forty-eight hours of the decision” and “belonging to another party, as long as the person reports the fact to the judge of the electoral district concerned.”
