Agriculture Minister Luis Planas reported that about a third of pork export certificates are withheld due to African swine fever.

Currently, of the 400 export certificates to 104 countries, about a third cannot be used due to the outbreak.

The government is working to reactivate these certificates and restore normalcy in pork exports.

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, confirmed on Saturday that about “a third” of pork export certificates are “frozen” due to the outbreak of African swine fever.

“Of the 400 export certificates to 104 countries, a third of them have been blocked. We are working to reactivate them as soon as possible,” Luis Planas explained on Saturday.
