Military police officers rescued a 55-year-old woman, whose son was being held in a private prison, after she wrote a note asking for help and handed it to a witness, in Cuiabá (MT). The 25-year-old suspect was arrested along with another woman who was at the scene.

Police were called by a friend who reported concerns about her health and wellbeing. At the scene, the son tried to prevent the police from entering, saying that there was no need for the team to be inside the house.

Suspected, agents entered the property and found an unsanitary scene, with a large amount of accumulated dirt, as well as dog feces spread throughout the yard.

The victim was in a dark room with little air circulation. While at the scene, a police officer noticed that the victim, as he was hugging the witness, was secretly trying to put a piece of paper in his shirt pocket. Upon opening the note, police officers came across a distress call.

“I’m in prison and I’m being threatened. I can’t even see the sun. I’m forbidden to leave my room. I’m so scared. Help me. Gratitude. Save my life in Jesus’ name.” The woman also said that she lives under constant surveillance and fear and suffers from psychological violence. The son and another suspect were arrested.
