PoD Group integrates services and talent development

The PoD Group announced the unification of its areas of activity, merging the PowerOfData service architecture with the professional training model of the PoD Academy to centralize technical implementation and ongoing training in a single format.

Under the new model, teams combine top professionals from PowerOfData with talent trained by the PoD Academy, whom customers can integrate after six months. When this happens, the group replaces the team with new participants in ongoing training.

Dahlmer Sylla, co-founder and CEO of PowerOfData, says the group was motivated to adopt this model by looking to leave a legacy for both the company and individuals.

“We have adopted this model with the aim of achieving prosperity, through integration into the labor market, enabling professional advancement and, as a company, delivering results, efficiency and competitiveness to our clients,” declares the CEO.

He states that the company’s experiences and results can add the ability to attract diverse talent: “We understand that our role is to use this function to innovate, change and better serve the market.”

For Tamara Jardim, CEO of the PoD Academy, which aims to train the new generation of data and analytics professionals in Brazil, through this initiative the company seeks to train professionals and future market leaders in a 360-degree way, that is, hard skills, business knowledge and soft skills, in addition to promoting equality and reducing the historical focus on the Rio-São Paulo axis. “We have over 30% of our student base coming from the North, Northeast and Midwest regions. In terms of gender, we have grown from 20% to over 35% female participation in our classes in less than three years,” he comments. “This is a deliberate strategy: training high-performing professionals, at the same time as we aim to accelerate diversification in a tangible and measurable way in the Brazilian technology market,” adds the professional.

Strategy to counter turnover

According to Talkspace, employee turnover in the technology sector can range from 13% to more than 18%, and even global, consolidated, and innovative technology companies have difficulty retaining top talent.

Dallmer estimates that even with high employee turnover, large companies can still attract talent more easily, while medium-sized companies have difficulty assembling and maintaining a qualified team.

The CEO adds that historically, access to high technology was limited to very large companies with a lot of capital, but the digital revolution has forced all companies to compete with technology and data.

“PowerOfData’s new structure seeks to democratize access to cutting-edge technology and help small businesses overcome the talent barrier, giving access to the same competitiveness that was previously the privilege of large companies,” explains the CEO.

PoD Academy offers theoretical content with practical experience in data market knowledge, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). The training is designed to serve new talent and working professionals.

“By combining foundation and practice, which can make a huge difference in a sector that is changing so quickly, it makes students, whether new talents or experienced professionals, ready to achieve results,” emphasizes Dahlmer.

PowerOfData sees that in the future, the relationship between education and technical implementation will take place in the digital marketplace as automation takes over repetitive tasks, freeing people to use creativity, deeply understand problems, and simplify solutions in an intelligent way.

“In practical terms, this means that people will be able to work more with what really interests them, i.e. their talents, creativity, thinking and decision-making ability. In other words, technology will still be necessary, but the differentiation will increasingly be in applied intelligence and the human factor,” comments Dahlmer.

As for Paolo Correa, head of data talent at PowerOfData, in an interview: “What many companies are missing today is not data, but people who are able to understand it. This is shaped and developed. You cannot buy it ready-made on the market,” he says. “With this vision, PowerOfData aims to transform strategic thinking into a product that combines technical capabilities, talent training and sustainable results,” concludes Correa.
