The project reorganizes tasks, redistributes employees, and creates a new administrative structure in the capital.
A bill amending the functional structure left by the extinct Foundation for Social Assistance and Citizenship (Fasc) is now being processed in the Porto Alegre City Council. The proposal sent by the executive authority stipulates amending the number of jobs and redistributing workers to direct management sectors.
The text specifies that permanent civil servants and public employees from the previous institution will be transferred as a priority to SMAS, also allowing transfer to other departments at the assessment of the municipal government. This measure seeks to ensure the continuity of social services that were previously provided by the municipality.
The restructuring includes the elimination of 1,070 permanent positions and 141 additional positions, in addition to the creation of 626 new permanent positions and 192 general teams. The rearrangement aims to achieve a balance between the need for employees and the new administrative model adopted by the capital.
According to the executive authority, the initiative will allow the employment of 268 current government employees and 358 vacant positions that were part of the FAC staff.
