Left-back Quibano was one of Botafogo’s big names during the 2-2 draw with Corinthians, on matchday 36 of the Brazilian Championship. The player scored Alvinegro’s first goal in the match after a pass from Montoro. At the end of the match, he highlighted the team’s improvement in the second half and praised the draw achieved at New Quimica Arena.
“It was a very difficult match. In the first stage, we made a simple mistake. We spoke with the coach, we did it right, we were able to adjust and change the match. We are also happy with the recognition of the fans, we fought until the end. This point is very important for us to continue the tournament,” the full-back told “Premiere”.
The draw in Itaquera returned Alvinegro to Group E of the Brazilian League. After all, they have reached 59 points, one point behind Fluminense, which currently ranks sixth.
Botafogo will be a guest on Cruzeiro, next Thursday (4), at 7:30 pm (Brasilia time), in the penultimate round of the competition. A win could ensure Alvinegro’s place among the top five in the Brazilian championship, ensuring the team’s qualification to the group stage of the Libertadores.
