In prison
“STF decides by 4 to 0 to keep Bolsonaro in prison” (Politics, 24/11). These ministers are prohibited from ruling. They have declared enemies of Bolsonaro. They are attacking the democratic rule of law. This is criminal. How embarrassing!
Marina Montero (Sao Paulo, SP)
Always first class. In the future, everything will be challenged, revised and perhaps even reversed. Who doubts? The whole process is full of loopholes and uncertainties.
Ray Giovanni (Belo Horizonte, MG)
Very proud of the Special Forces, the Federal Police and the institutions that operate in our country!
Adriana Silva Ribeiro (Belo Horizonte, MG)
This was not a failure or an accident. There was a deliberate attempt to open the ankle bracelet by welding, an act that says a lot in itself. When the device is tampered with, the signal disappears, as if someone is closing a door in the face of justice, and the center immediately informs the judge. A gesture like this breaks the trust that has supported the benefit. When trust breaks down, the law allows for stronger responses.
Larissa Bertani (São Bernardo do Campo, SP)
Differences
“Alexandre de Moraes supports Alcolombre against Messias and is isolated in the Special Forces, but he worries Lula” (Monica Bergamo, 24/11). If Lula were truly committed to the left, to social justice, and to the progress of the country, he would nominate black women for this position. Although Dino is an excellent judge, Lula could have already done so in previous nominations – and he has refused to do so to serve his own interests. Then it turns into this: Everyone thinks they have the right to have someone in the STF drink our tobaina. The Brazilian right is humble, but the left is not helping itself.
Antonio Carlos Zava (Sao Paulo, SP)
Nomination for a vacant position in the STF is the sole and exclusive privilege of the President. Whoever wants this right must apply for the job.
Delson Marquez (Jabuatao dos Guararapes, PE)
Democratically. alive!
Pedro Pidade (Aracatuba, SP)
Friction forces
“Mota breaks with PT leader and further deteriorates the Council’s relationship with Lula’s government” (Politics, 24/11). Go, Lindbergh! If you can’t negotiate with the “It’s All in My Pocket” position, negotiate with the STF.
Fabio Fioravanti (Maringa, Public Relations)
Lindbergh is nothing more than Lula’s henchman. He just does what he is told.
Marco Martinez (Sao Paulo, SP)
As the election date approached, it became clearer that the Council must be renewed.
Rafael Moraes (Joao Monlivadi, MG)
Mota is the result of Lula’s wrong policy. He should have faced the election. Now you have to suck it up.
Milton L.H. Araujo (Sao Jose do Rio Preto, SP)
2026 elections
“Centrão sees new window for presidential ticket with support from Bolsonaro, but without Bolsonaro” (Politics, 24/11). Bolsonaro has already earned his role. Now it’s time for Tarcísio to show what he came for. New blood in the presidency.
Alessandro Nascimento (Rio de Janeiro, Royal Jordanian)
Will there be a project or is it just another nomination whose sole agenda will be “liberating the country from the Labor Party”? No one can tolerate this right wing living off anti-Labour without offering anything better in return.
Felipe Macedo (Sao Joao del Rey, MG)
violence
“Child kidnapping in Nigeria is not just a religious issue, as Donald Trump would like” (Bianca Santana, 11/23). A very serious and repeated crime against children, and the United Nations is monitoring it indifferently.
Maria Antonia De Filippo (Santo Andre, SP)
Arguments come and go, and it all comes down to a question of identity. It’s great for the right and terrible for social movements.
Joao Moreira (Vitoria, ES)
