Red Alert: Storms and winds threaten Sao Paulo’s coast

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) has issued a red alert and a warning of high danger until Tuesday (25/11), across the coast of São Paulo, due to strong storms, with forecasts of heavy rain, strong winds and even hail.

On the coast of São Paulo, coastal winds are so strong that they can cause damage to homes and buildings close to the beach. In the rest of the state, Inmet expects heavy rain of between 30 and 60 mm per hour or up to 100 mm per day, winds of between 60 and 100 km/h and a chance of hail. Among the expected problems are power outages, crop damage, fallen trees and floods.
