On Tuesday (11/11), agents from the Department of Defense of the Delegated Services (DDSD) launched an operation targeting fuel fraud in several regions of the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The action, jointly with the Department of the Treasury (Delfaz) and Operation Foco, targeted 10 gas stations located in the Northern Region, Western Region and Baixada Fluminense to detect signs of tampering with metering pumps, the sale of adulterated fuel, lack of licenses and tax fraud.
According to the Civil Police, investigations are also investigating irregular fuel supplies from other states, a practice used to defraud Rio de Janeiro’s tax authorities and create unfair competition in the market.
