A US official said that the head of US diplomacy, Marco Rubio, and President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, will meet with Ukrainian negotiators in Florida on Sunday (11/30/2025).
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Saturday that a delegation was heading to the United States to discuss Washington’s plan to end Russia’s war with its neighbor.
Rubio and Witkoff will be accompanied by Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Zelensky wrote on his Telegram account, “The dialogue on the basis of the Geneva points will continue. Diplomacy is still active.”
He added, “The American side is showing a constructive vision, and steps may be developed in the coming days to determine how to end the war in a dignified manner.”
Earlier, Zelensky had reported on this day that the Secretary of the Ukrainian Security Council, Rustam Omerov, was again leading the Ukrainian delegation.
In Geneva, the Ukrainians and Americans discussed a 28-point plan to calm the Russian-Ukrainian war, which will begin four years later next February.
“The mission is clear: prepare quickly and purposefully to determine the steps needed to end the war,” the president said. “Ukraine continues to work as constructively as possible with the United States.”
Zelensky will speak with Macron in Paris
The Ukrainian president intends to travel to Paris on Monday to meet his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, after overcoming an internal crisis with the resignation of his right-hand man, Andrei Yermak, who is accused of corruption.
It was the Elysee that confirmed Zelensky’s trip on Saturday and included it in recent diplomatic developments, specifically with the Volunteer Alliance meeting held last Tuesday.
He added that the meeting with Macron will also analyze the current situation and conditions for permanent peace within the framework of the Geneva negotiations and the American plan.
The French government said that the two presidents “will study the security guarantees” that could be put in place after signing the ceasefire within the framework of the volunteer coalition.
Ukrainian diplomatic efforts come after Russia intensified its attacks against Ukrainian energy infrastructure and against Kiev, which responded by attacking Russian oil exports.
