Saulo Fernandez spoke about the death of his mother, Professor Estela Fernandez, who died about a month ago, at the age of 77.
In an interview with Quem, the singer opened up about his grief: “I still go through that (feeling) a lot… I say I was swimming in the void.”

He continued: “There are moments when I feel very happy, and I sing. And then, when the song ends, I feel sad, and I go back to swimming in the void.”

Saulo Fernandez said art was a source of healing and therapy in this delicate moment. “Music has always saved me. I’m a shy guy, I have very low self-esteem and I started singing professionally when I was 13. So, music has saved me ever since.”
He added: “She has a companion, my mother, my sister, everything that is very important, music to me.”
