A powerful explosion followed by a fire panicked residents of the eastern side of São Paulo on Thursday night (11/13). The accident occurred on Avenida Celso Garcia Street, near the intersection with Salim Farah Maalouf Street.
Pictures posted on social media show the extent of what happened. A huge cloud of smoke dominated the sky east of Sao Paulo at dusk. Many sounds were also heard, with fireworks exploding in the area.

The explosion, which occurred around 7:08 p.m., caused at least eight Fire Department vehicles to mobilize. According to the organization, the incident occurred in a house and included fireworks, which led to the generation of a lot of smoke and subsequent small explosions.

Area residents reported on social media that the impact shattered the windows of several apartments in a building close to the explosion site. Cars parked in the streets surrounding the explosion site were also damaged.
