The confusion occurred in stoppage time. Footage from the broadcast shows several people exchanging blows. Soon after, Remo’s fans retreated and returned to the visiting place.
On the field, Avaí defeated Remo 3 x 1 and ignited the battle to reach the A series of the Brazilian Championship. With this result, the host team ranks ninth with 55 points. Remo is vying for a place in the top national division, sitting in fourth place with 59 points, but could lose places if Criciuma, Goiás or Novorizontino win.
