The Second Disciplinary Committee of the Supreme Court of Sport Justice decided to postpone the trial of striker Vitor Roque, a Palmeiras player, until Wednesday 19th of this month, after the deadline of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
The session was scheduled to be held earlier on Monday, 17th of this month. But it was transferred. The player was reported for discrimination after a homophobic post in reference to the win over Sao Paulo.
The expected penalty is 5 to 10 games in the event of a penalty. If he takes the hit, Roque could miss the squad on the same day, against Vitoria, in a match rescheduled by the Brazilian Football Confederation for the Brazilian Championship.
The appointment came after complaints from Palmeiras club president, Leila Pereira, regarding the delay in the trial of Bruno Henrique, which arrived at Flamengo.
Behind the scenes, the Rio club stated that the São Paulo leader’s request for more balance in the STJD ignored the fact that Vitor Roque was denounced a month ago and has not yet been tried.
Vitor Roque posted on Instagram a picture of a tiger with a deer’s head in its mouth, but he deleted the picture minutes later. Palmeiras caught the athlete’s attention, but that was not enough.
