In the classroom, parents and students encountered the owner/EL DIA
Pupils and parents from several schools in the city reported that after paying rent for a room in which they were planning a celebration related to their promotion to secondary school, they were informed that the party could not be held because the venue did not have a regulatory license. The situation reported by that newspaper led to a violent confrontation between representatives of those communities and the person who presented himself as the owner of the shop located at 122 and 58, known as “El Límite.”
The party was suspended by the building owners due to an electrical short, and they informed the family 24 hours before the celebration.
This novelty shocked and angered ten associated schools at the “pre-promotion” ceremony, the way they propose to celebrate the courses that will graduate in 2026. And everything was ready for fun. So much so that they collected and paid for the contract signed in May, which required 12 million pesos. As the parents explained to the newspaper, the contract includes the expiration of the building’s license in August. They could not imagine that they would not have anything new these days. They said there are also agreements signed with other schools until the end of the year.
In response to an inquiry from this newspaper, the municipality of Beriso confirmed that the building is out of order, and for this reason, a case is pending in Misdemeanor Court No. 2.
The night before, parents and students protested at the venue as it was decided what to do with the party. The solution was to transfer it to another location of the same company. The idea was not approved. A spokeswoman for the group said: “The room they are offering us costs 800,000 pesos and we pay 12 million.” In the end, the ceremony was held last night, but the group promised to continue demanding justice now.
