Buenos Aires – November 30 (NA) – Argentine Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto confirmed that he “does not have confidence” after finishing fourteenth in the Qatar Grand Prix, which was held today, Sunday, at the Losail International Circuit.
In an interview with the press after the race, the man from Pilar, rider of the Alpine team, spoke about the 2025 season, which will be his final date at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and which will determine the next champion of the “Maxima” (Lando Norris, Max Verstappen or Oscar Piastri).
“I hope the season will end soon,” said the 22-year-old Albiceleste young man, who finished ahead of his teammate Pierre Gasly, after his collision with Nico Hulkenberg (Kick Sauber).
“Despite the changes we made, I didn’t find the rhythm and didn’t feel comfortable all weekend, although I rode a little better today. I ski a lot on the entrance and when I try to push in the middle of a corner, I don’t have the confidence, and I didn’t find what I wanted this weekend,” Colapinto explained.
He added: “I hope to come back better in Abu Dhabi, but the end of the season was very difficult.”
The dispute at the Yas Marina Circuit, which will be covered by the Agencia Noticias Argentinas news agency, will put an end to a complicated year for the Pilar native who, despite managing to secure his place with the French entity for 2026, has so far failed to score points in 2025 and will bet everything on the final day.
He concluded his talk about the Qatar Grand Prix: “It is a difficult track where there are no walls, but there is that dirty gravel that does not allow you to get out a single inch, but it was a difficult race with difficult turns, and some fun to drive, but on the other hand it is very difficult and very monotonous, and it did not give any opportunities to overtake, which is boring.”
