
On Thursday night (27/11), a man died after exchanging gunfire with military police officers from the 19th Battalion, in Novo Gama (GO). The incident occurred in a rural area of the region known as Vale das Andorinhas, after complaints from residents about suspected armed men traveling in a car.

During the patrol, agents found a vehicle with the aforementioned characteristics. While trying to approach, the team was met with gunfire from the suspect, and the car was hit by four bullets. One of the windows was shattered and a bullet penetrated the driver’s door.
The police responded to contain the aggression, and the suspect ended up being shot.
The Military Fire Department and SAMU were called and assisted at the scene. The man was taken to Novo Gama UPA, but died from his injuries.

In the area where the suspect was located, the army found a .38 caliber pistol. The scene was isolated for investigation.
According to the military police, the suspect was already convicted of murder, robbery, menacing and drug smuggling.
The police officers involved in the incident were not injured and are in good health.
