TCU Minister says he wants to plan to use extra-budgetary funds in the first half of 2026 | Brazil

Minister of the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) Bruno Dantas said on Saturday (29) that he intends Present an analysis of the use of funds outside the general budget of the Union to finance the implementation of public policies to the plenary session in the first half of 2026.

Dantas, rapporteur of the process at the Audit Office, said he wanted to address the issue at the end of last year, but received considerations from the Civil House and the Board of Directors of the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDES) that were merged by the auditors.

“The auditors raised concerns about the governance and transparency of this fund, and whether Finep is handling these resources in an impersonal manner, in order to comply with the rules that exist there,” he said at an event in Rio de Janeiro. “I requested and the TCU plenary session approved a specific report (for this case).”

According to Dantas, TCU will hold a public hearing on the matter on December 9th.
