Brazil has gained another relevant space on the international cocktail scene: Ten Brazilian bars are listed among the “Top 500 Bars,” an annual ranking that charts the best bars in the world. Based on an analysis of internet data, the 2025 list, released on Monday evening (10) at a ceremony in Florence, Italy, highlights six addresses from São Paulo, three from Rio de Janeiro, and one from Salvador.

Tintin Bar, in São Paulo, was the top national team, rising from 39th to 19th. The business run by Thiago Bañares, which started as a pasta restaurant, is also the only Brazilian among the world’s top 50 by the prestigious Top 50 ranking. The list includes Bar dos Arcos and Santana from São Paulo, Elena and Noso from Rio, and Purgatorio from Salvador.

At the top of the podium is Scottish Panda & Sons, in Edinburgh, which the rating describes as “a cocktail bar with table service, focusing on friendly Scottish service in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere” with “innovative drinks prepared using the latest technology”.
The Brazilian homes featured in the rankings stand out not only for their style and creativity, but for bringing in elements of Brazilianness – whether through local ingredients, signature drink menus or an atmosphere that appreciates local cultures.

- 188th place: Subastor (Sao Paulo) Speakeasy is known for its intimate atmosphere and menu inspired by the Brazilian biome.
- 336th place: Bar dos Arcos (Sao Paulo) – An address that combines bar history with cutting-edge cocktails.
- 354th place: Lay’s Cocktails & Co. (Rio de Janeiro) – In Leblon, a treatise by mixologist Ty Barbin, highlighting Brazilian creativity and spirit.
- 426th place: Elena (Rio de Janeiro) – A mansion in Horto that houses a cocktail shop designed by Alex Mesquita, featuring a romantic design that emphasizes cutting-edge technology.
- 437th place: Santana Bar (Sao Paulo) – A bar with a strong original proposal in the capital, São Paulo.
- 444th place: Pico (Sao Paulo) – Frequently among the best, with an intimate show and cocktails that value the Brazilian land.
- 476th place: Purgatorio Bar (El Salvador) – Representative of the North/North-East in the classification, with a strong cultural identity and drinks that interact with local traditions.
- No. 479: Our Ipanema (Rio de Janeiro) – An address that combines a cozy atmosphere with well-prepared cocktails.
